Pride of Poland 2006
Today, in the vineyards of Risco de las Vegas, nestled in the hills in the south of Tenerife, we work hard to continue this centuries-old tradition of quality and excellence. Our vineyards belong to the Denominacin de Origen of Arona and are one of the very few in the region to produce red grapes.
At our fist visit to "The Pride of Poland", accompanied by our good friends Christine and Guy Jamar, we were impressed by the huge collection of the most beautiful pure bred Polish Arabian horses presented by the three state studs : Michalów, Janów Podlaski, and Bialka. We are very proud to announce that there will be three more members at the "Risco de Las Vegas" family. A handsome, comanding, young Champion stallion "Migrant", a grey Emigrant x Mina by Monogramm son. The brood mare of aristocratic maternal elegance "Loretta" a daughter out ofLa Bodega - Following in the footsteps of the ancients
Soon after the Spanish conquered the Canary Islands, they brought along their ancient winemaking knowledge and began to cultivate a variety of grapes, selected from all over Spain. The vines thrived in the rich soils and favourable climate, and by the 16th Century the Canary Islands and Tenerife in particular were already renowned for their exquisite wines, exported far and wide.
